Weight management in pregnancy
It is recognised that talking about weight could be sensitive. However, women with increased weight relative to their height (known as body mass index) have a higher chance of problems in pregnancy.
Risks include but are not exclusive of miscarriage, Diabetes, preeclampsia, clotting disorder, baby’s growth and development, difficult delivery.
It is essential to plan your pregnancy care accordingly. When pregnant, managing and preventing weight gain beyond recommended weight is crucial. Dr Nandi and his team can help you plan a pregnancy concerning overweight or obesity to reduce risk to you and your baby. If you are already pregnant, he can also help you manage weight gain to minimise the risk to you and your baby.
