Diabetes in Pregnancy
Diabetes is an important issue during pregnancy. The most common type of Diabetes in pregnancy is gestational Diabetes.
Pre-existing Diabetes such as type 1 or type 2 diabetes or gestational Diabetes causes high blood sugar that can affect your pregnancy and your baby’s health.

Gestational Diabetes
Diagnosed for the first time during pregnancy, usually by glucose tolerance test, between 24-28 weeks. Some women may have a higher risk of developing Gestational Diabetes, and it is recommended that these have glucose tolerance tests earlier in the pregnancy.
Expectant mothers can help control diabetes by eating healthy foods, exercising and, if necessary, taking medication. Controlling blood sugar can keep mother and baby healthy and prevent a difficult delivery.
